I have always been fascinated by the temporal relationships that develop between photographer and subject while taking portraits. The line that is walked from technician to conversationalist and back, the element of social context, the power of expression, and pure aesthetic choices all exist before your lens, but require a unique approach to be discovered each time. Every portrait is a new experiment.
